Troubleshooting Your Olympus Camera Body

Thank you for visiting Cameras body. We have a large range of Cameras body products here that will be sure to suit your needs.

The crown jewel of your digital camera system is your Olympus camera body and nothing can be unhappier than when you realize that it is not operating the way you need it to.  Before you run to the phone to call your local camera repair store, there is some troubleshooting that you can do before turning your baby over to a camera technician.  You start with the easy stuff first and check your batteries.  Most camera batteries are rechargeable and over time you will need to actually replace them with brand new ones.  This does not happen often but it does and it is the easiest item to troubleshoot.

Along the same lines, you will want to check that you have inserted a memory card in the Olympus camera body and that the SD memory card is not full.  Both conditions will effect the operation of your camera.  Having spare batteries and a spare memory card is a good way to prevent being caught with having an inoperable camera when the best shot in the world passes you by.  Check the camera to make sure that you are in the correct mode to take the type of picture that you want.  The next part to examine would be the lens.  If you own a point and shoot camera then make sure that the lens is not malfunctioning by not opening or closing completely.  With the Olympus camera bodies that allow interchangeable lenses, you might want to switch the present one you are using with another one and see if it works.  If it does then you have eliminated the questions of whether your issue is a lens problem or a camera problem.

The next function to check would be your flash setting.  If it is not on auto, then change it to auto and see if the camera operates properly.  If it does then it is not a flash issue.  If the camera is not operating correctly then it may be the subject matter that you are trying to capture.  Try moving away from the subject or notice if there is a lot of movement in the background, your camera may have a hard time processing that.  These are just a few things for you to try before spending additional money for unnecessary repairs.
