The Nikon Digital Camera Body
Cleaning your Nikon Digital Camera
You have had your Nikon digital camera body for a while now and sooner or later you will have to clean it. If you are finding spots on your photographs then you definitely have to clean your camera. However you have to clean under your lens. Before you start looking for a store to clean your camera you should know that you can clean your own camera if you are very careful. Understand there is a risk of damaging the Nikon digital camera body or any of the lenses, but with a steady and careful hand you should be able to pull it off.
You will first start by removing the lens from the Nikon digital camera body. You will be able to see the inner workings and the sensors that lie beneath. Although you might think that canned air is a good choice to blow away dust or any other grit that may get into your camera, it really is not the way to go. Get an air bulb. They will blow any dust but they are gentler on sensitive camera parts and no damage should occur. You will use canned air to remove any dust or grit you may find with your sensor brush. Any camera store will carry sensor brushes. Use the sensor brush to brush the sensors inside your camera.
A Nikon digital camera body has several sensors on the inside of it. So while you are out purchasing your air bulb you will want to pick up sensor swabs and cleaner that is specifically made for cleaning camera sensors. You will want to use a fairly well saturated swab to remove any stubborn dirt that may be lingering inside the body of the camera. Once you are done cleaning and have reassembled your camera, take a test picture of a plain floor or wall. This should reveal if you gotten all the dirt during your cleaning.
